NKUA

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) is one of the major institutions of public high education in Greece. Its five schools have a registration of more than 50,000 students and the University employs 2,500 teaching and research professors. NKUA is a legal entity of public law and maintains full administrative autonomy. The Ministry of Education provides part of its budget. The Department of Informatics and Telecommunications is part of the School of Applied Sciences and has 39 academic staff members and over 100 doctoral candidates and research associates. The department participates in a large number of national and International funded activities and maintains expertise in a wide range of research areas including management of data, digital libraries,  distributed computing, theoretical aspects of computing, information theory, digital signal processing, networking and wireless communications.
