ITINERARY EXAMPLE

The following figure illustrates an example of an itinerary defined in Toulouse:

 

Itinerary

The user wants to go the Zenith (Arrival). He starts from Home (Departure) and needs to go to Place Wilson (Step1) and Place de la Daurade (Step2). He prepares with the planning application the itinerary. It comports 3 step sequences: “From Home to Place Wilson”, “From Place Wilson to Place de la Daurade” and “From Place de la Daurade to Zénith”.
The planning application computes an itinerary composed with several transport sequences:

A multi-modal itinerary is a trip taking into account different transportation means. It can include walking sequences, metro sequences and bus sequences.

The figure above shows the different transportation sequences computed with the planning application:

Step sequence n°1: From Home to Place Wilson:

The user has to go to Saint Michel metro station by walk, take the metro till Jean-Jaurès station to reach Place Wilson by walk.
This step includes two means of transportation (by walk, by metro) and tree sequences (walk, metro and walk).

Step sequence n°2: From Place Wilson to Place de la Daurade:

The user has to go to Place de la Daurade by walk.

Step sequence n°3: From Place de la Daurade to Zénith:

The user has to go to Pont Neuf bus station by walk, take the bus till Zénith station. This step includes two means of transportation (walk, bus) and two sequences (walk, bus).
